A Matter of Choice

 Hello, and Be welcome.

Akkia shows various options on how to render a sentence.

Then, it's a matter of choice how to say something.

If you say: -- "Adda vá tiddar meaki to wa", meaning: -- "I'm going to be the protagonist in the story", we can see the Pronoun "Su", meaning "I", is missing, so you're using an informal register because informally you can drop the Pronoun.

The Master can ask you a few questions, like: -- "Tuyer meaki?", as for -- "What's your story?".

It's not actually a question, it would be: -- "Saata tuyer meaki daka?", but when you ask "Tuyer meaki?" the Master is saying only the most important words, so there's no doubt on what is the request, or use the full sentence with "Saata".

"Nanaka agou da, elle sua aloa dul-a", for -- "My family died, when I was a child".

This example shows there's a vilain who killed your family.

Why he didn't kill you? Did you got any help? From who? Why?

"Taasta iylki fattu ei tutu wa? Tu fylaeth eddu ka? Enne de, daka? Taasta wa?".

You see? Now, you'll try to answer those questions with your own words.

"Sua daelýrung dul-a. Schatka to egga wa", for -- "I was in a travel. Not home", for example.

This way, deciding the story of your character is important.

Enigma tells the story of a very special group.

There may be many reasons for why you became special, anyhow.

Your "Taulu", or group of warriors, has a story waiting for you.

There are five important Types of character in Enigma, which you may want I to tell you. For example, the Wizard Hero. He (or She) is the basic Type, and all groups should have one hero in the Taulu -- we use the word "hýu" for "hero".

The second important Type is the Noble Vampire.

He or She is a leader with enough story to tell than an old grimoire.

Vampires reincarnate, discover they're a vampire, and get transformed. The transformation takes one week, and it's made of enough pain to make a vampire stay thinking in the transformation for the rest of their life.

The Master says: -- "Nekron daka?", or -- "Are you a vampire?".

We use the words "ewa" for "yes", only used formally, and "egga" for "no", but it's "ei" at the end of a sentence. You can also answer: -- "Kohtta ga", meaning "I don't know", if you just don't want to make the choice yet.

The third Type is the Monk, an extremely trained martial artist in the way of building himself/herself as a good person and a combatant. It's very important to notice a Monk is a combatant, and that the Monk's destiny is to become a divine being.

Once you decide which one you're going to play, try to find his/her answers.

It's important to say that in Akkia every sentence is an answer, not a statement, and that you can find the way up to the question. It's similar to phylosophy's answer and question, and its question will take you to a new level of understanding of the Akkia language.

I'm taking notes in different days, these are my thoughts.

I hope it doesn't bother you if I change subject.

The main reason for teaching the language is to play Enigma, or the reason for playing Enigma is to practice the language? I don't know. You'll have to decide it for yourself.

The world of Toj is a very beautiful world.

It's not similar to Arda, our Earth -- there are two stars.

Also, you'll find it very different from Arda because a person who's born with any form of power is a noble. You'll find that a noble decides how the nobility money will be used, the formalities of the nobility -- sometimes you can change your title, and the responsabilities it carry -- and the nobility hierarchy.

One noble thing you'll notice is that your Word is very important.

Your Word is part of the noble name, or "Namah", you carry.

And the word for "word" is "Mark", very useful.

To say official statements, or give orders, you give the order and "sign" with your Namah.

This happens to be very interesting, and a social characteristic of Toj.

And it's expected it continues to exist in the futuristic Akkoya.

Akkoya, in the years of 5200's, expects your words.

The nobility still exist, and rule a small empire.

It's the capital world of an empire of 10 thousand worlds.

But I'm still planning how that happened.

The word for "world" is "terlar", or you can use the world name, Toj.

Toj means "world" or "story" in the local language.

I'm planning a new Story, and Enigma is going to be told.

I've started planning Enigma back in 2006 as a story i wanted to tell, but there are secrets I'll keep for now. You're going to read what influences the game, but not my investigation on The Game, only to know that The Game exists -- it's not only a story.

Then, when you start a new story, try to think it's a real story.

We have that in Akkia: the word for Story is "meaki", but the word for history, that is the collection of facts, is "tuthame" -- two words completely different, as we don't have more in Portuguese: the two words merged into "história".

I'm telling you this because we have separated words for similar concepts in our language.

They work as "story" and "history", most of the time.

We need words to start making questions.

Making Questions

Taasta ka -- Why (in questions)

Ittaka (da) -- What (only used in questions)

Saata -- Which (one) -- works like a verb

Elle (daka) -- When -- ila(e) -- in answers -- Ellei (daka) -- To when

Emme (daka) -- Where -- Emmelai (daka) -- To where

Enne (daka) -- Who -- Ennelae -- to whom

Malam(me), and: -(a)sta(ka), -loo -- How -- Malammeth -- This way

Ngoya de -- How (used in answers)

These are today's examples on how to make questions.

You need to know that double letters causes the vowel to be long, or the consonant (nn, ll, mm) to be long, and (tt, dd, pp) to becomes sort of a pause -- the long letters causes stressed syllables to its position before if a consonant.

Another important word we need to know is "Trat", or "way".

The "Trat" is how things are said, and specially, to whom.

It happens in our language that "to whom" you're talking to is extremely relevant.

It changes the structure of the language, and includes formality and more and more formal wording.

Then, for a start, begin with marking the Object with the Accusative.

You're going to produce informal wording, but that's Okay.

Wording means the correct usage of the words.

And it includes slang -- slang is very useful, most of the time.

For example: -- "Yalk" -- it means: Permission to go -- but it means "consented sex".

Slang also translate important contect related to Magic.

Most of the Magic related vocabulary is straight in meaning, but I'm working in double meanings for various aspects of this part of the vocabulary.

But, how can I start a game? Start with "Biltor", that is "scenario" or "setting" in our language.

I'll come with wording on this in a few posts, it's much important.

For now, just try to remember these words for questions.

That's it, and I hope you're enjoying the reading.

Stay Plugged.
