Hello, once more.
We're going to define Characters now.
They are grouped by three sorts of Definition.
They are: (the arcanists) Wizard/Witch, Sorcerer, Mage (Virtue Mage, or the non player's Vice Mage), Sacerdot, and Shaman; (persons of power) Monk, Psionic, Vampire, Licanthrope, Monster (non player's), Djine, Asura, and Shadow.
The second definition is Concept, between: Common, Hero, and Player.
The third is Class, between: Deviant, Gadgeteer, Healer, Hunter, Investigator, Leader, Legendary Warrior (special), Master (special), Noble, Princess (rare), Rogue, Soldier, Spellcaster, Tank, and Twister.
Only to note, Hunter and Soldier are Vampire Classes.
I always say to the game group that I need at least one Wizard or Witch on the group. That's important to know why. The Wizard or Witch are the real Magic users, and so they're needed for the Master's plans to deal with Magic in game.
Others are secondary Magic users, when it comes to Spells.
Many Words of Power cannot be said by non wizards and non witches.
See this Blog's name, it's a Word of Power.
It's also agreeable that there must be a Vampire in the group.
Why? Because they take Action in each and every Phase.
Turns are divided into six Phases, and Actions depend on the other definition of Social, Mixed and Combatant sorts of character. A Wizard or Witch will take Action only once a Turn with no Combat training, but 1-5/3 with training.
Because one needs to speak to cast Spells, Words of Power.
But this all can be forgot besides the Ideals.
Ideals are what moves the Character ahead to take Action.
Wizards and Witches tend to specify good Ideals, together with Shamans and Monks, but all the others can chose deviant Ideals, ordinary or negative Ideals, like one Character, I remember, the player said: "I want the Ideal of: Power -- but the others cannot know about this", and then there were a huge number of contexts in which the Ideal was being tested but I could not tell what was happening to the group.
To play, you need to test your Ideals, deal with them.
That's how Interest happen to become important.
I'll be speaking about it again and again, specially because Ideals influence the player more than other measures used in other games, and one can really learn what the game is teaching, together with the Tarot, also used in Enigma.
For example, Rogue is a non player's Type of Character.
We had only one of them during the Playtest, and it was difficult to deal with.
Healer is a good Type, and Leader gives orders during Combat.
We can understand the others by their names.
Even though I'll have posts on these Types very soon.
Thanks for reading, and
Stay Plugged.
