What is a Vampire, and Imortality

This is a post on Type of character.

And so, What is a Vampire, and Why to play one?

It is impossible to talk about Vampires and not mention The Light, and The Dark. The necessary feeling of being imortal, and feed from the living. A huge effort into finding meaning when everything shows you cruelty, Corruption, and crime.

The main essence of being a Vampire is dealing with these feelings, too real to be ignored.

A daily struggle between what's sacred, and what's profane.

And more, there is no answer after crossing the line.

There are five Types of vampires: 1) Vampýr, the energy vampire, who feed from the energy of the environment, the ambient, Prana, 2) The Nekron, imortals who deals with The Light, and can live daylight, 3) The Sanguinius, also known as The Abbandoned by The Light, and much more sanguinius have poped than nekron, which means they were not transformed, but yes, they became vampires, 4) The Plague, vampires who feed from the dead, they kill first and drink later, and everyone they feed become a new vampire, and it is said they have no soul, and 5) The Vessel, a member of a Lineage, and a Vampiric Lineage is one family who serves the imortals, and then drink their blood, but not to be transformed, simply called Family.

The Light is an issue discussed by the imortals daily, or nightly.

Sanguinius have a problem with sunlight and, specially, with the element Fire. Both may kill the sanguinius -- may kill -- It is said some of them can "Talk with The Divine" and ask for protection, during the day.

The Nekron may live in daylight and, being distinct from the Abbandoned, they are venomous.

Their poison's a deadly substance, but it is said it's used during the transformation. But well, there are other ways of transforming a mortal into an imortal, one of them is taking all the blood and giving the imortal blood to the new member of the family.

Vampires gather in families, they need strong bonds to survive eternity.

Other way, they'd go a distant place and inter deep in the ground.

Take Arda, for example, and the families are strugling to survive for 26 thousand years, including The Great War, which happened the date The Bible says the world was created.

A huge number of Sanguinius poped during that War, and they're called The Cursed.

They're transfigured, the most ugly a person can be, that's what they are.

The War was so strong, people thought the world was being "created", and vows were made by mortals in order to think about the future -- remember, only the egiptians know what "a book" is, and a huge number of mortal elders died, so they had to start it all over again.

But Vampires are much older than this, because Sanguinius reincarnate, and become Vampires again. It means they are moving from world to world for the last millions of years.

The Elders, who decide how the vampiric language is, are more than one million years old.

But there are The Gods, who lived the Vampire's Empire, 15 million years ago.

An Ancient named Tempus convinced The Empire that vampires should go into the hide for protection. The reason's clear, a huge number of worlds had terrible struggles from the mortals, to insurge and kill the imortals, and that would happen Vampires would become vilains. It means something would happen that would destroy Vampires forever.

It made sense to the others, and all vampires went into the hide.

Very soon, Vampires became legends, and myth, and stories were told around the fire.

But, What is Imortality? We can only say ex praxis, by means of practice.

Imortality is, that's the question.

Imortality happens to be a Condition, and the imortal don't learn or forget anything important just for being imortal.

It is said imortals can see what people live, like in thelepaty, but this is just different.

True, but there's a special condition for that: Blood.

When a vampire drinks the blood of a person, or animal, they acquire their memories together with the most sacred liquid.

This way, a vampire doesn't want to kill, because they'd know the person's life, and this is named The Share.

The Sacred Share, for some, the terrible effect of The Thirst, for others.

A Vampire that's attracted for someone's blood may have two origins in terms of ex praxis condition. They want to kill, or they want to save. And this is The Dilemma of a Vampire's sacred or cursed life.

Another way to see this, it is The Voices of The Blood who learn the memories from the donor, or victim. These Voices usually speak with the vampire all the time, and are probably the equivalent of a Wizard's Entity Guide, such as an Eshu, for example.

The Thirst gives actual Damage, one of non letal per day, then one letal per day, until Torpor.

Torpor is a deadly condition, the vampire fall into sleep, and only wakes with the smell of Blood.

It means a vampire needs Blood, but they may feed from animals.

I'll let other more information for future texts.

You can play in the past, as you can play in the present and future.

But remember, Beware of The Thirst.

You'll see that the major Lineages are Ibis, egyptian, then Týr, the warriors, and so Nosferatu, or The Abbandoned by The Light. These are common to the whole Universe. But well, you'll see several other Lineages, as the Agape, ruled by their legend, who live in Arda, our Earth.

Ah, just out of curiosity: Vampires can drink beer.

This may be another source of Water, for them.

I hope you're enjoying the reading, and,...

What is a Wizard, and Magic

This is a post on Type of character.

And so, What is a Wizard or Witch, and Why to play one?

A wizard is the natural user of Magic, being so they have a Trigger named Aptitude.

The first levels of Aptitude are from zero to five, then six and seven are somewhat out of control, and eight is the last level to be considered a person, but from eight to twelve is the second levels of Aptitude, being nine to twelve the levels of an entity.

But it's too technical, this, so What is a Wizard?

A wizard is a person of power, and they call those who have no Magic as commons, because this is what they are, people with nothing in special, the daily person we met on the supermarket, the person worried about soap opera and celebrities.

This is the main Ordos, or Faction, on the universe of Enigma.

They are also worried about wizards, sorcerers and mages who travel The Dark.

Darkness is the only Attribute to want to talk with those who seek it.

The wizard who investigate The Dark is often a person who is interested in power, anf usually, imortality. The seek is a solitary one. Wizards agroup as Nations, so everyone knows who do and what, this way these persons of power may have to isolate themselves from the whole of their society, in order to pursue personal glory, and to find a Destiny that's a calculated, forged one.

It is known that wizards have three Ways, and they are: 1) Interest, 2) The Dark, and 3) that is Religion.

Their enemy is the Mage of Vices, a person who believe nothing more than personal power, and that they can do whatever they want, a phylosophy made recently on the last centuries, built by Occult knowledge.

Occult means they share organized information everywhere, hidden in The Dark, to corrupt the beginner so they'd become one of 'em. This way, don't go using the first Rituals you find in books or elsewhere.

Interest is the respect for someone's Ideals, Corruption is its oposite.

There's also the other way, namely Subversion.

Religion's also a Way, but wizards and witches usually don't follow any specific Religion, besides those who undergo revelations and these revelations change them forever.

I have many notes on Rules, Characters and Settings, in paper.

I mean, I'll share it all in here, but Rules are probably more suitable for my site, and you'll find them in there.

Be welcome reading my site, and my Novels: www.actiontales.com.br

(Edit) As of the end of 2019, my Novels book one is finally published.

(Edit) As of the end of 2022, my old site's no longer online, but there's a new site on the way being created.

Is it necessary to read the Novels to be able to play Enigma?

Well, the right answer is no, but they'd help you to have a better understanding of the fictional universe.

(Edit) Feel free to use Conlang Wars as a means of creating the languages for your Game, Setting and Story. This is another game I created, which runs in Turns and participants take their Assets in order to manipulate the creation of a new language, with missions, milestones and acclaimed interest from the target people, who need a language to use. It may be a game of conspiracy, if players chose it not to be a cooperative game, then a player is chosen as The Master and is neutral in the Game -- The Master take notes in paper, and is also The Post (The Master rules secret messages) or any other means of gathering information.

(Edit) To play Conlang Wars, the players chose their role in a Story: The Storyteller, The Writer, The Point of View, The Hero, amongst other. This is published on my site, by 2015 and later.

A wizard knows how to get information from the collective counsciousness, makeing it questions.

This also happens that wizards are very talented in sending and collecting secret messages.

Some Nations have also a proper language, defined previously during the start of a new Story.

On the past, thousands of worlds were ordered and controlled by a Terrible God, but then, The Godess of Magic of one of these worlds was able to destroy him, and rewrite the history of those worlds and territories (including metaplanes).

It means there are several worlds which are ruled by an Academy, are polytheists, and people of power form a nobility, distinct from the commons.

Wizards and Witches then play an essential role in these societies because they are natural born person of power.

It doesn't happen to a Sacerdot, for example, amongst other Types.

But then, What is Magic? This is a very good question.

No one has the final answer, but many will try to define it, probably as a technique, no good nor evil, which deals with Reality itself, changing the course of things or creating something new.

It is known that Ideal is the most refined way to make Magic happen.

There are many races in this Multiverse and others, many of 'em are in some sort of Mythic Era, but there are also worlds with technology and Science, and then, worlds with Science of Magic, necessary to space travel normally.

Be one in one of these worlds, and know that Magic will go after you, if you don't seek Magic properly and dedicate Study to her.

Magic is intelligent, and sooner of later she'll know what you are doing.

But first, you'll have to learn how to Select, as a beginner.

Advanced Magic users, and Masters, have a huge number of Ready Effects.

I'll let some information to publish in other posts.

I hope you're enjoying the reading, and
