Language Classes

Hi, there!

And Be welcome to the Blog.

I remember exactly what I was doing by the time of this post in the past.

It was the time I was giving English and Finnish classes.

I had only two students who wanted to learn my dear Finnish, both girls where going to Finland as exchange students, and I did what was possible to teach the basics so they could learn the language during the travel and stay there.

So, I want to come back some posts to speak about Akkia Cases.

The Cases are very important, because in Akkia they allow the morphosyntactic alignment change, a change in levels of formality, closeness and friendship, or else working situation -- that's Accusative and Ergative, being Ergative more formal, and proper to work -- or the Stative, which is always SVO -- the other alignments are more free in terms of Word Order syntax, so to show Topic, and Comment.

One example of Ergative

Iyahata iyahakjita. –– The rain rains (and we all can see it).

The Absolutive case -ta is used for "iyaha", that's "rain", and -kjita (shitá) is the Public Present.

Remember that in the Stative we don't mark words, it's not Accusative or Ergative.

I'm also focusing in Tense, and there are various ways to show Tense. The most usual is by the use of Endings, but you can transform the Endings into words, as a separated word with the use of the preffix "oa", as in "oakjita".

The Honorable Endings are formed using the Past as the basic Tense, which is different from the common Ifu, that's formed using the Present and is the word shown in the dictionary -- there's no conjugation by person, number, or gender.

We use V2, or Verb Second, to show Admiration (Formality), and we can show our Opinion -- or we use Verb Final, that's Factual, and mostly used to add information to the conversation -- both types of Sentences can use the same set of Cases.

Also, we need to talk about Formality, because we may find it different from other languages.

Formality is show by the use of V2, together with Verb Endings.

But else, when you're talking to someone you know well, the Word Order is pretty free.

Just remember you say the important part first, and it can also be action.

When the action is the first part, we see an Instructive formation.

Also, we use Pronouns to show to whom we're talking to, and it may be completely droped if you don't need to show this.

The presence of gender in the Pronouns refers to you defining gender and relation.

It happens, for example, when you define your own gender, or the level of formality you want to show. You can always use "shu", the honorable "I/me), to show you're important -- that's mostly used to show authority.

If you pay attention to these guidelines, there's not much more to say.

I just was thinking about the experience of giving English classes on the past, by the time it's being posted this. And this post is about the most exsential lore you should know to keep up the study of this Blog's language, the Wizarding language, Akkia.

That said, you should know how to give Opinion, using comments.

We're not giong to see examples this time, and you must review what we studied before.

Go there! See the examples given in the other old posts! Be welcome.

I was thinking,... that things may change in the language, as in "nukkami" and the today's word "nukkampi", but the word formation's there. I was also thinking that I'll need space to talk about another language, a language I'm in the process of creating her.

The idea in here is that the Blog has a goal, as well as the game.

A language must be created, and I've chosen Echolá, the language I've used in my first book (Silence), in a dialogue of Najka with her elder and leader -- the meaning can be understood by the context.

Echolá was first named Deuta, with the meaning of "language", in lang.

Then Echo was created, with the meaning of "echo", really.

I've already chosen more than one thousand words for this language, but it has vocabulary gaps to get filled with new words.

I'm competing with my group in the language creation, another feature of the game.

The fact is that I'm far more experienced in creating than the group.

My first meeting with a player had shown his opinion that it isn't fair, because I'm far more experienced -- I'm creating a sketchlang, so to say, but then, I'm also creating the idea for another language for the group, to serve as ground to them.

That's easy to me, to create a sketch they can create based on it.

But well, a collective creation isn't easy, and I'll need to show the group what to do -- the groups testing the game say it's much fun create words and grammar, and other stuff, to have influence over the codes that society works with.

My advice is that you need to find Word Families -- family means the words are related to each other in that group -- but you need to create specific words, to group the words in order to expand the borders of your language.

I'm also providing the group with 200 years of history, I know, that's not much -- but we could not play on the past, because there are borders we must follow in order to investigate the past, and that's why we roll the dice to show if the past can be modified or not.

My other Blog is providing a story to think about this properly.

The player who played Tòrian wrote his own story, and I still have the files -- then, I'll post more on that story one day. The idea came with "Chad", the name the player have suggested for a god of protection -- but then, I've seen the word formation wasn't positive! Then, "ch" would never come before "a" and a final "d", in that world's language -- I then discovered the Polarity, now being used in Akkia.

Certain letters are found positive, neural, or negative -- and the order of that letters show much of what the word is.

I've found "Shadeza" was possible, but I'm still unhappy with the word.

My new group, in the future, must find a reason for the creation. That happens because there must be a reason for a language to be created -- that's not just an Art, but yes, it's Art indeed -- and I'm here to help the group.

That's why I've created "Echolá" first time -- to show the way.

"Echolá" is being created from old notes, dated 2011-12, and a few more files.

I've chosen her as the equivalent of Latin, with influence over several societies, including Vampires -- these societies use the language because it's understood by a huge number of people, the same way English.

But it doesn't influenced other languages, as Latin did, nor is publicly spoken, as English does.

There are a few words the societies speaking her have "created", as "fat", for "What is it?".

This word actually "asks for the reason or fact(s)" of what is happening.

Eventually, we'll conflict there two creations, and see the clash between them to happen during the Story -- I'm pretty much more interested in the language I'm offering the basement for, which is the language of princessess, named Origa.

Origa lacks the concept of a Timeline, using other means to show Tense -- probably adverbs and particles.

I'll have to write some more on the languages we're planning here on the Blog.

Then, wait for news on that, I'm not going to fill all the gaps right now.

I'll have more on Akkia and it's sisters very soon.

I hope you're enjoying the reading, and so say something or leave a message if you see something you like.

And,... Stay Plugged.
